Project Engineer
We are seeking a detail oriented person looking to grow with a leading construction firm located in Branford. The candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills and clear & effective writing. Related degree helpful.
Project Engineer activities include (but not limited to):
- Insuring that work in the field is completed in accordance with drawings & specifications.
- Reviewing construction drawings to make sure that the bid scopes are correct.
- Contracting and buying out the construction job under the direction of PM.
- Estimating, construction material and labor takeoffs & design build specification Writing.
- Monitor transmittal and change order logs making sure that they are always current.
- Processing change orders -- confirm that we have backup from the superintendent
(Request for change order and written price from subcontractor).
- Processing Transmittals and submittals to subcontractors and architects and engineers for approval.
- The estimator will set up the buy-out initially then the APM will see that it’s kept up to date.
- Cover projects in the field as required - watch over the projects you are assigned to making sure they run smoothly.
- Assist estimator and review bids before they go out.
- Analyze completed construction projects to confirm square footage costs for estimating history
This position requires a working knowledge of Expedition & Suretrak project management software.
